WHO IS CASSANDRA WASHINGTON?
I've spent 25+ years building HR systems for some of Michigan's largest school districts: Detroit Public Schools, University Prep, Flint Community Schools. I know what it's like to lead through budget crises, union negotiations, and massive organizational change.
I've been the Chief Human Resources Officer for a 50,000-student district. I've been the Chief Operating Officer for a multi-site charter network. I've negotiated labor agreements that ended five-year pay freezes and launched alternative certification programs to address the national teacher shortage.
That's why I started Washington Consulting Services: to help mission-driven leaders build HR infrastructure that actually works, for the people in them and the mission they serve.
